Our Catholic Preschool uniquely infuses faith and values using a developmental approach (Creative Curriculum) and a knowledge-based sequence (Core Knowledge/Classical Education). Our teachers assist parents in forming the heart, mind, and soul of their child.
The curriculum addresses developmental goals in the following areas:
Science and Technology
Gold Assessment Program
The Gold Assessment program is used in conjunction with the creative curriculum and allows the teachers to observe each student in an authentic natural setting. The information gained is shared with parents and used in planning appropriate early childhood learning experiences and helping all children succeed.
Core Knowledge/Classical Education
The world renowned Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence is the beginning of a classical education and is used to inform especially the Cognitive, Literacy, and Language Acquisition objectives and activities. Knowledge builds cumulatively and skills like creativity, imagination, critical thinking and cooperation are learned through experience and hands-on child-centered instruction. The Core Knowledge program strengthens and builds comprehension through a literacy- and numeracy-rich environment.

At St Katharine Drexel Catholic School our students experience the awe and wonder of God’s creation through intentional environmental education. Students benefit from outdoor experiences and from working in our school garden. Our students learn Science, Math, Language and even Social Skills by working together, planting and sowing and harvesting! We help one another by passing on what we learn about our Earth. We learn to know, love and serve God by understanding the gift of the Earth which He gave us. St Kate’s Wonder Club gives our families regular opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Catholic Philanthropy and Service
Our students learn the importance of giving all year round. A well-rounded education forms heart and soul as well as mind. Our February Service Project coincides with our clothing study, the 100th day of school, and teaching our children about service. We are collecting 100 baby clothing items this month to donate to the Alternatives Pregnancy Center. Thank you for your help this February with a fun and beneficial service project
Catholic Character Development

The Theological Virtues: Love, Hope and Faith, as defined by St. Paul (who placed love as the greatest of them all). The four Cardinal Virtues:Prudence, Temperance, Courage and Justice. The Seven Heavenly Virtues: Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Temperance,Prudence
